“This is a great day, and it’s not just a great day because we get to celebrate with friends and family – and to rejoice with people that we love. Even more, it’s a great day because we have an opportunity to praise God and to bring him glory. Marriage is the gift of God, given for our joy and our comfort. It is a great gift and a unique opportunity to model a deeper reality that is the love Jesus Christ has for his Bride – and laid down his life for her. So we’re here today to celebrate love. The love between Fendy and Benny, yes, and what they’re love reflects. That is the love that God has for his people, his Bride.” Opening words that welcomed loved ones to the sacred union of Fendy & Benny. “I just know that he’s the perfect man for me!” Marsha stated plainly, with a loving smile on her face. This past year her birthday marked the two year anniversary of this adorable duo’s first date. Her soon-to-be husband, Carl, planned an extravagant 12-day trip to Paris, where the two were to soak up the European culture and make new memories together. Little did she know that on the eve of their last night – and her birthday – would she experience one of her greatest life memories to date, by breathing one word, “Yes!” Just a few short weeks ago, Olli had the pleasure of capturing Marsha & Carl’s love story on film. Starting off casual, dressed in a chic yet relaxed look, the two gushed about one another whilst sitting pond side in CENTRAL PARK. Thereafter, M&C switched things up with a gorgeous form-fitting, deep blue gown for her, and a pink dress shirt, black bow-tie and matching suspenders for him. They were picture perfect as they strolled through the streets of NYC for their sweet Save the Date Film! For a peek, scroll below and click play!

The affair was intimate including only those nearest and dearest to J&J. THE INN AT LONGSHORE provided comfort, class and an air of fairytale romance for the memorable occasion. Kei chose to pair her smokey-eyed look with a slicked-back high ponytail, allowing her long mane to flow freely behind her. WEDDING BAND SELECTION TIPS | NYC WEDDING BLOGGING

Choosing the right engagement ring is hard enough, so you would think that purchasing a wedding band wouldn’t be as difficult. Well, you’re right. Of course, only if you let me guide you in the right direction. Here are a few Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to your wedding band selection:
1) Matching is cool for newborn twins or Junior High School besties, but not for newlyweds. Make sure your bands are a reflection of your own individual styles. Besides, it’s not like you leave the house each morning wearing matching outfits – at least I hope not.
2) Though you don’t want to buy the exact same rings, be sure that they have at least one element that’s along the same lines. For instance, a similar engraving is always a nice touch, or even stones of the same shape. Some may differ, but I think at the very least, they should be of the same metal.
3) Speaking of metals, make sure your engagement ring and wedding band are made of the same metal, too. It makes for a more cohesive and clean look. Not to mention, metals change with time. When they’re new, they may look the same but as they age, their color will change.
4) We know you’re fancy and may like the finer things in life, but please do not choose a band that overpowers your engagement ring. You want to wear these bands together, and your engagement ring should always be the statement piece. Think of the band as a beautiful complementary accent piece.
Before I forget, just a quick reminder that although I love eternity bands, especially those with diamonds or other stones around it, it is difficult to have it resized should you lose or gain weight. Just some food for thought. No pun intended. Until next time!

NICHOLE & CHRIS

To say that Nichole & Chris’ Wedding Day was unique and a barrel of laughs, would be an understatement. This couple are without a doubt the perfect match for one another. Both are known to be kind, loving, super adorable and ready to laugh at a moment’s notice – and these attributes (plus many more) were front and centre during N&C’s special day! Beginning with a modern New York City adventure through Central Park, the Bride & Groom met for their First Look. Kisses were shared and both beamed while photos were snapped. Next up? Nichole & Chris made their way down to Gramercy to their wedding venue of choice – the magnificent HOME STUDIOS. Using small DIY elements, including polaroid table photos and an Anniversary Piñata, the B&G added a sweet and personal touch to the intimate Ceremony & Rockin’ Reception. Once vows were exchanged, heartfelt toasts were given and scrumptious food devoured, it was time to let loose on the dance floor with rainbow confetti and red clown noses for all! For a special glimpse into this spectacular affair, take a moment and scroll below!

SYLVIA & RICK

Sylvia and Rick looked super sweet as they embraced one another while strolling along THE HIGH LINE giggling as they went. OLLI had the pleasure of capturing this adorable duo on camera for their Engagement Session last week – and oh what fun! It was a perfect late-summer evening with comfortable temps and a magnificently memorable sunset. Making their way through the Chelsea neighborhood, it was fitting for them to stop by the eclectic CHELSEA MARKET for a dose of the uplifting energy from the surrounding hustle-and-bustle. S&R were certainly able to ‘play as if no one was watching’ – their love radiated right through the camera lens! We can’t wait to celebrate the newly weds on their Wedding Day next April! XOXO

MAUREEN & PHIL

For a glimpse into an intimate and magical New York City union, please stop what you’re doing right now and read on! Under the charming roof of Central Park’s ornate 19th Century Victorian Ladies Pavilion, Maureen & Phil said ‘I do’ in front of 15 of their closest family and friends. The blushing bride was absolutely radiant in a wedding white summer dress with matching heels and a bedazzled headband and a delicate teeny veil. Her bridal bouquet of yellow and white florals completed her fresh summer look. Phil was dashing beside his Bride in a blue suit, white tie and matching pocket square. The two glowed as they looked into each other’s eyes. After M&P made it official and were introduced as Mr. & Mrs. Szymala, the couple took to the busy streets of NYC Times Square to capture more Wedding Day moments. WHY DIY DECORATIONS ARE GREAT FOR YOUR WEDDING

If songs uplift the soul during the wedding ceremony, photographs or videos tell the story and the bride’s wedding dress and her (of course) being the apple of the eye, your decorations makes it all complete.
While we all know that the union of two hearts is very special in making it all official through a wedding ceremony, the preparations, the tedious process may even cause stress to both the bride and groom. To consider a lot of things is necessary. What theme or look you’d want your venue to have and also the budget. So here comes the idea of DIY decorations. Now why are they recommended for your big day? What noise has it made so far in the world of wedding planning and design?
They’re personalized. There’s that personal touch that makes everything look naturally different. They’re natural because you’ve surely used materials that may easily be found in art stores or by just rummaging the basement… They’re different because your creativity will be taking over. Everything will be made with love.
They’re less expensive. There’s no need for you to hire people. You may ask friends and family to help out. The materials can be indigenous. They can even be bought from the thrift shop. You get to decide which ones to use and not so the budget is definitely in full control. Don’t ever worry about your venue looking cheap. Of course not! Your creativity does all the magic!
You’re free. You can exhaust your ideas of a spring type of wedding with all the flowers and those pin up decorations plus some fabric tied here and there and even some paintings all you want. There would be no limitations for you to put your ideas into works and even personally connect to all of your guests. It’ll make you feel free too and contented after seeing the marvels of what you’ve done.
Charm overload. DIY decorations sprung from creative minds. They capture the eyes and even the hearts of people. On your wedding day, it feels great how charming your artistic mind and hands can take you to cloud 9 apart from the celebration of love that you’ll be sharing with your significant other. Again, they are a head-turner – your amazing creativity. Its charm are captured in photos and videos and the outputs? Surely a darling!
DIY decorations aren’t a threat to big events as some others will say as long as you’ve planned out well what you want, what you need, how you want it to look like and how much time you’d have to spend on it. Art will not stress you out. It’ll create more than a memory on a moment you’ll treasure for a lifetime.

HOW TO STAY FIT UNTIL YOUR WEDDING DAY

To brides, it’s really stressful to worry about everything even when you’ve got a wedding planner. We’re pretty sure you’re one of those who would want to go right into the details of everything. But of course you’d want to look great on the big day and it’s not just all about you being able to wear that beautiful wedding dress. You have to look and feel fit as well! But how can you juggle with staying fit and take care of all the preparations?
The right diet is a key. Diet doesn’t mean having to skip meals. Definitely not. You have to eat healthy. Follow a certain diet which is far from fatty and cholesterol-rich food. Veggies and fruits and of course a little bit of this and that to keep you alive! The right diet means you’ll still make it through to walking down the aisle and look like the most beautiful bride of the season.

                                                NYC WEDDING CINEMATOGRAPHY
Avoid stress. While this sounds impossible and you may even roll your eyes right now, we’d say there’s a way for you to avoid it and it still lies upon you. If you plan to have a wedding planner, choose the best – the reputable one so you don’t have to worry about every detail and all those appointments but one – just with the planner. If you don’t, that’s perfectly fine. Call for help or designate the tasks. Scheduling is important. Planning with your significant other is best. If you both work together and support each other’s ideas well then, staying fit is just going to be like the usual.
Have some beauty rest.Beauty rest doesn’t have to mean you need to spend time at the beauty salon. Not necessarily. To stay fit you need some time to rest, relax your mind and get enough sleep. You can’t afford to look so worn out on your special day. It’s you and your soon-to-be better half’s most awaited moment so better make sure that you give yourself time to breathe amidst the schedule and the busy preparations.
There’s really not much to consider in staying fit. If you want to look and feel good in photos, videos and enjoy the big “I DO” day, you have to take good care of yourself. Remember to smile the pressure away and know that the hard work is in the name of love.

BEST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER: FINDING THIS MR. RIGHT

You most probably have found your Mr. Right and that’s whom you’re going to walk to down the aisle. The preparations, the busy days you spend – they should be worth it apart from of course the fact that you deserve a blast after the hard work! But how can you remember all those apart from keeping the memory in your heart and all of your guests? Definitely through photos – really good ones! The big question now is, how are you going to find “Mr. Right” Photographer? Of course you’ll entrust your soon-to-be a big memory to the expert, don’t you?

To find our Mr. Right in wedding photography, there are certain things we have to consider and we share them with you today:
The Experience. His exposure in wedding photography should have been broad enough to understand how important it is for the couple to have beautiful outputs. You can tell the expertise through his previous clients or his portfolio. Don’t worry, it won’t be too much to ask for his portfolio. You can tell by his portfolio how amazing his experience has been.
Referrals. Your family and friends could be Photography fanatics too. They probably hired their best photographer for their events especially weddings. So one way to find the best one is them referring their “Mr. Right” Photographer to you. Normally, they’ll boast about how great the photos were and all that. You have to be ready to hear a lot of stories. It’s a part of it.
Professionalism plus Charm.Photography could be his passion but his professionalism will take him to the top. Apart from passion and experience, our Mr. Right in wedding photography has to be professional – organized, time conscious and his broad mind. He has to be sensitive of the time his clients expect of him and how he would relate to all the guests. Photographers would usually request people for creative shots and how he makes the crowd do it becomes his charm. You’ll be able to feel these two combined when you set a meeting with him.
The Blog. Apart from his portfolio, the best wedding photographer will tell his story through his blog. It tells his story that you don’t even have to ask any more questions apart from his professional fee. You’ll see how creative he is and how he understands the art in photography through his blog – his way of expressing his passion.
Photography is an art. Expertise in taking photos on weddings is a talent. Not every photographer has it. So be careful in saying Yes to your deemed “Mr. Right” Photographer. Go through the details and when you do, you’re creating the best memories of an amazing event of your life that could last a lifetime. Be wise.

Why Should You Hire NYC Wedding Cinematography Experts?

nyc wedding cinematography

A photo may speak a thousand words. But a video can clearly tell a story. Hiring NYC wedding cinematography experts is a great investment. In fact, many couples want to have their wedding day documented not only through images, but recording it in a video.

If you are still doubtful about hiring one, here’s to enlighten you about it:

Seeing the Other Important Details
Let’s face it. During the Big day, you won’t see all the things like preparation of the guest, setting up the venue and other things, as you are busy prepping. You won’t see how your parents and guests look at you while you are dancing, exchanging vows, and walking down the aisle. Seeing the tears and the laugh from the people around you is priceless.

Relive the moment
Pictures may capture them, but they won’t tell a story like a video does. Hearing the sound of your won voice and the raw emotions you had during the ceremony can’t be provided by a single image. And when you are just mere remembering the events in your mind, it won’t be as accurate as the video. Also, hearing and seeing the both of you exchanging vows is very special. The audiences may record the special moment, but NYC wedding videography experts will give you a high quality audio and video in the best way possible. Thus, you will not only see and hear, but relive the moment.

nyc wedding cinematography

Lifetime Investment
Your wedding video is a lifetime investment that you can replay after 15 or 20 years. In fact, you can pass it down to your children. They can see what their parents looked like during their wedding day. They can also feel the emotion of that day and hear the words that were said. But more than that, it gives the whole family to reflect and remember.

Quick Tip: If you want to hire a wedding cinematographer/videographer, make sure that his or her video style matches the way you want to have for your wedding. Check out their previous projects or ask for a demo video of their past clients. You may also visit their website or read reviews for you to be guided.

As you age, memories start to fade. But seeing yourself in the video will let you relive the moment of the very special occasion. Thus, hiring an NYC wedding cinematography expert will help bring your vision of your Big Day to life.

NYC Wedding Cinematography Checklist For the Big Day

A wedding is a glorious event for a couple who long to finally tie a knot. Photographers and videographers know that it’s their job to capture this very moment. And the cinematographer’s job is to provide artistic decisions with regards to all aspects of productions. Thus, preparation is always vital. This NYC wedding cinematography checklist can help you ready for the special occasion.

Here are some checklist:

1.       The Right Gear
Of course, you can’t do your job if you forgot to bring those important tools of yours. Make sure that the camera, video cameras, DSLRs, camcorders, lens, tripods and other videography tools are packed. Before packing, be sure that each gadget is checked and tested so you don’t have any problem during the day.

You can make your own checklist of stuff to bring. In fact, most professional videographers do make their own checklists before heading out to the event so nothing will be missed.

2.       The Shot List
Shot list is quite important for any photographer and videographer, especially for beginners. A shot-list consists of the important moments of the wedding ceremony that must be taken. You can make your shot list beforehand. What do you want to video first? The shoes of the bride? The exterior of the church? Or the door where the bride is going out?

Furthermore, it is important to attend the wedding rehearsal. It can you give ideas on your story direction, the placement of your camera, and other important matters. This way also you will be guided about the flow of the ceremony so you wouldn’t be asking what comes next.

3.       The Storyline
Additionally, you can also make your own storyline. Although you can’t possibly direct and command the people and the flow of the ceremony, you can anticipate what could happen next. Making a storyline is an important part in NYC wedding videography.

4.       The Highlights
In line with making a shot list and storyline, it is important to know which part of the ceremony is the most important. In wedding, you should not miss the preparation of the bride and groom in their room. For instance, bride and groom dressing; the arrival of the bride; exterior of the church; the bride walking down the aisle; exchanging vows; the kiss and the list goes on.

Another tip: Try moving around while filming, but keep it steady. Don’t be too dependent on a tripod. Still, it can get shaky. Try changing angles and shots.

Above all, be prepared. There is no alternative to this. Be observant too. Some great things can happen unexpectedly. And keep the video rolling so you won’t miss anything. And always remember this NYC wedding cinematography checklist.
