Nancy & Tony's Wedding Highlight | NYC Wedding Cinematography & Videography | By Olli Studio from OLLI STUDIO on Vimeo.

For two people, it’s “a very special network of family members and close friends who make up, what we might call, their tribe. For Nancy & Tony you are these people. By birth or good fortune you’ve all had a significant place in sharing, affirming and shaping their lives and they yours.” Truer words could not be spoken about a couple’s nearest and dearest. To witness and celebrate their union as husband and wife, Nancy & Tony opted for an intimate affair with their tribe. N was elegant in an over-the-shoulder wedding dress with finely designed ruching. A pair of Nine West strappy diamond heels and a matching silver, bedazzled clutch completed her look. T was handsome and smart-looking in a hand tailored, deep navy blue suit with black dress boots. For a pop of color, the Groom wore a classy pair of stripped red and white socks. This darling duo exchanged personalized, heart-felt vows at the Sunset Terrace venue at Chelsea Piers. An apropos name since the party basked in the evening sunlight whilst overlooking the Hudson River. Overall, it was a memorable evening with memorable guests for a memorable occasion. Why Should You Hire NYC Wedding Cinematography Experts?

nyc wedding cinematography

A photo may speak a thousand words. But a video can clearly tell a story. Hiring NYC wedding cinematography experts is a great investment. In fact, many couples want to have their wedding day documented not only through images, but recording it in a video.

If you are still doubtful about hiring one, here’s to enlighten you about it:

Seeing the Other Important Details
Let’s face it. During the Big day, you won’t see all the things like preparation of the guest, setting up the venue and other things, as you are busy prepping. You won’t see how your parents and guests look at you while you are dancing, exchanging vows, and walking down the aisle. Seeing the tears and the laugh from the people around you is priceless.

Relive the moment
Pictures may capture them, but they won’t tell a story like a video does. Hearing the sound of your won voice and the raw emotions you had during the ceremony can’t be provided by a single image. And when you are just mere remembering the events in your mind, it won’t be as accurate as the video. Also, hearing and seeing the both of you exchanging vows is very special. The audiences may record the special moment, but NYC wedding videography experts will give you a high quality audio and video in the best way possible. Thus, you will not only see and hear, but relive the moment.

Lifetime Investment
Your wedding video is a lifetime investment that you can replay after 15 or 20 years. In fact, you can pass it down to your children. They can see what their parents looked like during their wedding day. They can also feel the emotion of that day and hear the words that were said. But more than that, it gives the whole family to reflect and remember.

Quick Tip: If you want to hire a wedding cinematographer/videographer, make sure that his or her video style matches the way you want to have for your wedding. Check out their previous projects or ask for a demo video of their past clients. You may also visit their website or read reviews for you to be guided.

As you age, memories start to fade. But seeing yourself in the video will let you relive the moment of the very special occasion. Thus, hiring an NYC wedding cinematography expert will help bring your vision of your Big Day to life.

NYC Wedding Cinematography Checklist For the Big Day

A wedding is a glorious event for a couple who long to finally tie a knot. Photographers and videographers know that it’s their job to capture this very moment. And the cinematographer’s job is to provide artistic decisions with regards to all aspects of productions. Thus, preparation is always vital. This NYC wedding cinematography checklist can help you ready for the special occasion.

Here are some checklist:

1.       The Right Gear
Of course, you can’t do your job if you forgot to bring those important tools of yours. Make sure that the camera, video cameras, DSLRs, camcorders, lens, tripods and other videography tools are packed. Before packing, be sure that each gadget is checked and tested so you don’t have any problem during the day.

You can make your own checklist of stuff to bring. In fact, most professional videographers do make their own checklists before heading out to the event so nothing will be missed.

2.       The Shot List
Shot list is quite important for any photographer and videographer, especially for beginners. A shot-list consists of the important moments of the wedding ceremony that must be taken. You can make your shot list beforehand. What do you want to video first? The shoes of the bride? The exterior of the church? Or the door where the bride is going out?

Furthermore, it is important to attend the wedding rehearsal. It can you give ideas on your story direction, the placement of your camera, and other important matters. This way also you will be guided about the flow of the ceremony so you wouldn’t be asking what comes next.

3.       The Storyline
Additionally, you can also make your own storyline. Although you can’t possibly direct and command the people and the flow of the ceremony, you can anticipate what could happen next. Making a storyline is an important part in NYC wedding videography.

4.       The Highlights
In line with making a shot list and storyline, it is important to know which part of the ceremony is the most important. In wedding, you should not miss the preparation of the bride and groom in their room. For instance, bride and groom dressing; the arrival of the bride; exterior of the church; the bride walking down the aisle; exchanging vows; the kiss and the list goes on.

Another tip: Try moving around while filming, but keep it steady. Don’t be too dependent on a tripod. Still, it can get shaky. Try changing angles and shots.

Above all, be prepared. There is no alternative to this. Be observant too. Some great things can happen unexpectedly. And keep the video rolling so you won’t miss anything. And always remember this NYC wedding cinematography checklist.
